FromSoftware's Elden Ring Game Sells 30 Million Copies

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Elden Ring announced on Monday that the game has surpassed 30 million copies sold.

FromSoftware released Elden Ring for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in February 2022. The game quickly achieved over 12 million units sold worldwide by March 2022 and surpassed Call of Duty: Vanguard to become the best-selling title in the United States for the 12-month period ending April 2022. Its DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, launched last June across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Elden Ring received numerous accolades, including Game of the Year awards at the DICE Awards, The Game Awards, and The Golden Joystick Awards. It also earned a Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards in December 2022. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki was honored with the Nebula Award for Best Game Writing last year for his work on the title.

The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is currently nominated at The Game Awards 2024 in several categories: Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, and Best RPG.

Bandai Namco is set to release Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new standalone Elden Ring game, on May 30 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
