Transformers Teases New Art for Evangelion Crossover Project
Japanese toy company Takara Tomy teased more details about its upcoming Neon Genesis Evangelion and Transformers collaboration on Friday. The full design will be revealed during the T-Spark Live event on September 25, and the company has already posted what looks like concept art on its website.
The crossover was first announced at the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2025 on May 15. It is part of Takara Tomy’s Synergenex brand, which focuses on special collaborations, and celebrates both Evangelion’s 30th anniversary and Transformers’ 40th anniversary.
This marks the second major collaboration between the two franchises. The first came in 2014, when a Masterpiece Convoy (Optimus Prime) figure was released in Evangelion Unit-01 colors, along with smaller Q-Transformers toys.
Takara Tomy launched the Synergenex line in August 2024, starting with crossovers featuring Godzilla, Macross, Monster Hunter, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Zoids. Transformers has also teamed up with Naruto and announced a Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration in late 2024.
